Odoo vs FlowAccount

FlowAccount is Thai online accounting software that handles sales and purchase documents, tax and e-Tax Invoice, and it is quick to start. If your main need is documents and tax, it is a very good fit. If the business needs sales, stock, purchasing, manufacturing and accounting on one set of data, Odoo fits better.

We are an Odoo Silver Partner, so read with that in mind. The section on when to choose FlowAccount is written as seriously as the one for Odoo.

Five questions that decide it

  1. Is the problem paperwork or operations?

If the time goes into quotations, tax invoices and monthly tax filing, FlowAccount solves that directly. If the problem is stock that never matches, production you cannot plan or unknown unit cost, you need a system that keeps operational work together with the accounts.

  2. Do you manufacture or assemble products?

Odoo has a Manufacturing app that shares product and stock data with accounting. The FlowAccount pricing and feature pages we checked do not mention manufacturing, so if you produce goods, ask the vendor directly what is covered.

  3. Who does your accounting?

FlowAccount has many partner accounting firms and lets them see the data clients create right away. If your firm already works in FlowAccount, moving to Odoo means agreeing how data will reach them from the start.

  4. Which tax documents do you need?

FlowAccount issues withholding tax certificates and RD Prep files out of the box. Odoo exports CSV files for PND3 and PND53, but Odoo's documentation says it does not generate the withholding tax certificate directly. List the documents your accounting team produces each month and check each one.

  5. Where is the business heading?

One FlowAccount package covers one company. If you plan sister companies, a factory, or CRM and sales tied to stock, check which system covers the next three to five years without re-keying data across several tools.

Which one fits?

Choose Odoo if

  • You want sales, stock, purchasing, manufacturing and accounting on one set of data
  • You manufacture or assemble products and need unit cost
  • You run, or plan to run, several related companies
  • You want CRM and approval steps shaped to how your company works

Choose FlowAccount if

  • Your main need is sales and purchase documents, tax and e-Tax Invoice
  • You want to start today on web and mobile without an implementation project
  • Your accounting firm already works in FlowAccount
  • You sell on Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop and want ready-made order sync and stock deduction

Common questions

Can FlowAccount and Odoo run together?

It can be done, but data then lives in two places. Decide which system owns each document and how data moves between them. Without a clear design, the monthly reconciliation work comes back.

What data can move from FlowAccount to Odoo?

We usually move master data: chart of accounts, customers, vendors, products and opening balances. Historical documents usually stay viewable in the old system, so the migration stays manageable.

Does Odoo cover Thai tax?

Odoo's Thai localization includes VAT 7%, withholding tax, purchase and sales tax reports (VAT-202), CSV files for PND3 and PND53, tax invoices showing head office or branch, and PromptPay QR. Withholding tax certificates and e-Tax Invoice need extra setup, so discuss them with your partner before starting.
